THREE MATCHES PLAYED. Three matches arranged by the Auckland Water Polo Control Board were played at the Tepid Baths last evening. Mount Eden, last season's winners, defeated Philomel, Parnell beat Waitemata and University drew with North Shore. There was some interesting play in the game between Mount Eden and Philomel. Mount Eden set the pace, and H. Moore netted. The remainder of the -first half was evenly contested, neither side scoring. In the second half Mount Eden definitely took charge, and goals were scored by Witten and Moore (2). Moore's presence in the team greatly strengthened the side. Score: Mount Eden 4, Philomel 0. Competition was keen in the game between University and North Shore. McKay opened the score for Shore when Browne missed a weak shot, but McCarthy equalised soon afterwards. A few minutes later Farrell was ordered out of the water. In the second half Vaile put Shore in front, but Gillett equalised for the students. There was no further score. Score: Shore 2, University 2. Parnell was too strong for Waitemata B and scored two goals in each of the two spells. Wilson netted three times and Noble once. Score: Parnell 4, Waitemata B 0. Waitemata Club. The following team will represent the Waitemata Swimming Club in its water polo match at the Tepid Baths to-night: Connold, Clark, Enwright, Fairgrav, Honeyfield, Leask, Lindsay, Perrin, Pettit.
