Two children—John Crowsdale, aged 12, and Kathleen Wawman, aged 6— were slightly injured when an aeroplane struck a feneej while taking-off at Waihou to-day. The machine, which is owned by a Hamilton company, had been making passenger flights from Mr. G. P. Good" fellows' property. It was about to rise at flying speed when one of the wheels struck a hidden rabbit hole. This momentarily tossed the machine into the air, after which it dipped again. The pilot was unable to clear a wire fence, over which the machine crashed. The left wing was crumpled and the propeller blades were snapped off cleanly. The pilot quickly removed his passengers and applied first aid to their injuries until the arrival of a doctor. The boy, who had a deep cut under his right knee, was taken to the Waikato Hospital. The gir! was cut about the face and head. Spectators of the accident say it was unavoidable.
