Sentenced to one year's imprisonment with hard labour by Mr. Justice Smith at the Supreme Court yesterday, Leonard James Monk, a young man. appeared at the Police Court his morning on a charge of obtaining from Premier Motors, Ltd.. a motor car valued at £llii by means of a valueless cheque. On the application of Chief Detective Hammond. Monk was remanded until December 10. Mr. Hammond said further charges were pending.
