ELEVEN DROWNED.
CREW OF NORWICH CITY. TWENTY-ONE ON ISLAND. RESCUE WORK DIFFICULT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department has received the following message from the superintendent of the radio station at Apia, Samoa: — "The captain of the Trongate, at Gardner Island, reports that he has rescued three of the crew~of the Norwich City. Remaining on the island are 21. Eleven were drowned when the vessel struck, including six Arab firemen. "Very heavy seas are raging. We are doing our utmost to rescue the remainder."
