TWO DROWNED.
TJeaeh Inspector's Heroic * Rescues. SURF BATHING TRAGEDY. (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Two school girls, Thelma Riley, aged fifteen, and Elvy Hamilton, aged nine, were drowned in the surf at Thirroul, on the south coast. Two others in the same party were.rescued at the point of exhaustion. . The tragedy was relieved only by the heroism of the beach inspector, Jack Bankin, who, after rescuing two, searched for the others. He kad to be dragged forcibly from the water and needed uedical attention.
