MAYOR RETURNS.
MEETINGS IN WELLINGTON.
REMITS FOR CONFERENCE. After spending two nights in succession on trains, the Mayor of Auckland (Mr. George Baildon) returned by the Limited this morning from Wellington in time to preside at to-night's meeting of the City Council. In Wellington yesterday forenoon Mr. Baildon attended a meeting of the executive of the Municipal Association rnd took part in arranging the remits for the next annual conference of municipal bodies to be held at Invercargill in March. In the afternoon the Mayor was present at a meeting of the Cancer Research Association, at which certain alterations in rules were submitted by the sub-committee in Auckland. These were considered, together with ttfe comments of .the honorary solicitor, and Mi\ Baildon undertook on receipt of the minutes to discuss the whole matter with the Auckland 'jub-commiftee. ,
