WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK

BENJAMIN—WEINGOTT.

The wedding of Dorothy, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Coieman Weingott. of Epsom,' and Lennard, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Benjamin, of London, was celebrated at the Synagogue last evening. The Rev. S. A. Goldstein, assisted by Rev. X. S. Salas" performed tlie ceremony. Entering with her father,'the bride was a dainty figure in silver brocaded lace over satin. The polonaise skirt was fashioned in peacock shaped frills of tulle, showing a silver underskirt. From a flat silver lace cap fell a tulle veil and train. She carried a sheaf of white roses. The bridesmaids, Misses Edna Purdv and Marjorie Weillgott, the former in pink and silver embroidered chenille, the latter in delphinium blue, wore silver tissue caps, and carried pink and blue shower bouquets. Zetta Cook and Daphne Morgan, as little flower girls, were in powder blue and pink petallcd taffeta, with wreaths of rosebuds round their heads. -Tiie be>fc man was Mr. li. WALDRON—CLARK,

Mcta 'Dolores, eldest daughter of Mr. and Airs. .T. L. Clark, of Mount Albert, was a charming bride on Tuesday evening when she became the wife of Edmund Lionel, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Waldron, of Point Chevalier. The service took place at St. Sepulchre's Church, and the Rev. Gordon Bell officiated. 'J he bride entered the church with her father, and wore an ivory taffeta, the skirt having deep cut petals embroidered in sprays of gold tinsel flowers, and large bustle bow. A tulle embossed silk net veil formed the train, and was held in place by a trellised cap of pearls. She carried a sheaf of St. Joseph lilies. The bridesmaid, Miss Evelyn Dawson, was in primrose chiffon, the lace hem touching the ankles at back, and tulle hip bow. A transparent tulle hat had clusters of blue flowers, and carried a mauve bouquet. Little Pat Clark was in mauve crepe fleurin, with knots of rosebuds. The best man was Mr. Rod Hende, and the groomsman Mr. Lan Mclnnes. The bride's mother wore kingfisher blue

POWNALL—MAZZOLENI,

A picturesque bride last evening was Miss Irene Mazzoleni, only daughter of Mrs. Gilliland, of Auckland, when her marriage to Mr. Edward Davis Pownall, son of .Mr. and Mrs. Motley, of England, was solemnised at St. Matthew's Church. Canon Grant Cowen performed the ceremony. Given away by her brother, Mr. Jack Mazzoleni, the bride wore an early period frock* The skirt was made in uneven frills of chalk white silk c-repe fleuri attached to a chenille brocaded bodice. Yards of billowy tulle formed the veil and train, which was held in place by a coronet of pearls and orange buds, with blossoms at the ears. The bouquet was of lilies and roses. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Elizabeth Pownall, was in daffodil satin, cut in handkerchief points. The two matrons of honour were Mesdames Jack Mazzoleni and W. A. , Joss. The former was in water lily chiffon, rosettes being placed round the skirt, the latter wearing a chartreux green two tiered skirt of chiffon. The headdresses were picture hats of crinoline transparent straw, ana clusters of flowers with ribbon velvet bows to tone. Shower bouquets of mauve, pink and buttercup were carried. Miss Ruth Gregory was the flower girl, in apricot net over satin and ribbon rosettes, tulle head bandeaux and carried a basket of pansies. The best man was Sir. Russell Preston, and the groomsman, Mr. Robert Davies. At the reception held at the Penrith, the bridal couple received under a huge silver and pink wedding bell. The bride's mother wore black embossed georgette with touches of lime, and carried a crimsoiu bouquet of roses, and the bridegroom's mother wore black ring velvet relieved with lemon georgette. She carried an autumn bouquet.
