TRAINING AT TAKAPUNA. A QUIET MORNING As the result of recent rain the track was slightly holding at Takapuna this morning. The' trestles were well out from the rails and the gallops mentioned were timed from the discs, which is the correct distance. Volimond was the first to work, running five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. She did it well. The unnamed Te Moti gelding, who is engaged in the Takapuna Plate, defeated Land Measure over six furlongs in 1.23 4-5. Section ran six furlongs in 1.23 1-5. Eull Mfeasure beat Pellette at the finish of half a mile in 535. This is the first gallop that the latter has had for some time.

Foot Rule, who is looking well, was given pace work.

Ridgemount, who is looking improved as the result of his recent racing at Te Kuiti, was only given pace work over a round.

Waitaunaha was sent over a round at a little better than three-quarter pace. The Swell was given easy work.

WORK AT EIXERSIiIE. The weather was showery for training operations at Ellerslie this morning, but owing to recent rain the tracks were holding.
