ELEVEN AERO CLUBS.

OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED. POWERS OF LOCAL BODIES, i (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A notification of the Government's recognition of aviation authorities for the purposes of the Local Authorities Empowering (Encouragement of Aviation) Act will be published in to-morrow's Gazette. Local authorities will then be empowered to spend money on the encouragement of aviation, even if the aerodrome it .is proposed to assist is not in the local authority's particular area.

The following clubs will be gazetted as recognised aviation authorities: —Auckland, New Plymouth, Hawera, Wanganui, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa (Masterton), Wellington, Marlborough (Blenheim), Christchurch, Mid-Canterbury (Ashburton) and Dunedin.
