j BRIDSON'S FINE FORM. NEW QUARTER MILE RECORD. At the tepid baths last evening G. Bridison, a member of the Grammar Swimming Club, lowered the existing New Zealand record for 440 yds to 5m 16 3-ss. The effort was a splendid one, and eclipsed. D. P. Lindsay's previous record of 5m 24 2-5s by 7 4-ss.

AUCKLAND CENTRE CARNIVALS,

The Auckland Swimming Centre will conduct two carnivals in connection with tbe visit of the two Australian champions, N. Ryan and 0. Griffiths. The first will be held on Wednesday next, and the second the following evening. A very attractive programme. of events has been drawn up, including 100 yards, 440 yards, 220 yards, and 50 yards invitation scratch races. The other events on the programme include open races for ladies and juniors. Nominations for all events close on Saturday.
