PRESENTATION.

A social evening was held in St. Sepulchre's Parish Hall, Burleigh Street, on Monday evening in honour of Miss Ethel Chegwiddeu and Mr. J. Herbert Pitt, in view of their approaching marriage. Miss Chegwidden lias been asso- ; ciated with the work of Holy Sepulchre Church for many years, especially in the ladies' choir and the Girls' Club. Mr. Pitt is lion, secretary of the vestry, and is also closely associated with the Tennis' Club. The musical programme, arranged by Mr. Trevor Sparling, organist and choirmaster of Holy Sepulchre, included items by Mr. George Orrell, Miss Rita Melton and Miss Chegwidden. The greater part of the evening was spent in games, competitions and dancing. In the supper interval the vicar, the Rev. G. Gordon Bell, M.A., spoke of the affection and esteem in which both Miss .Chegwidden and Mr. Pitt were held among parishioners, and assured them that they would begin their married life with the hearty good wishes of all with whom they were associated in the church. On behalf of the vestry and choir Mrs. Carlton Hay and Mrs. J. Ryan presented to Miss Ch'egwidden and Mr. Pitt a handsome Cut-glass water jug and six cutglass goblets. Mrs. Gordon Bell, on behalf of the Tennis Club and the Girls' Club, presented a silver teapot and cream jug. t . , ,'
