YESTERDAY'S HEAVY RAINFALL. OVER AN INCH IN 24 HOURS A violent thunderstorm hurst- over Auckland shortly after one o'clock yesterday afternoon, and heavy rain fell in the city and district, the southern suburbs being particularly affected. The unsettled conditions were continued during the night, and up to nine o'clock this morning the rainfall for 24 hours was 1.03 inches.

Exceptionally heavy rain has fallen during tlie present month. The average for November is 3.20, but the total has already reached 6.71 inches.
