TRAINING DOGGIE.
A HINT YOU MAY FIND USEFUL.
Puppies that do tricks and obey orders are always more interesting than other members of the doggie family; but these attainments are only acquired after patient training on the part of the owner. Shutting the door is the favourite trick of a neighbouring doggie. Should you desire your pet to" be equally proficient, proceed on something like the following lines: Open the door a little and then hold a piece of biscuit near the handle, and call to him, "Spot, shut the door." He will at once jump up, and in doing so force the door to ehut. After a few lessons of this sort spread over a number of days he will come to associate the command with the act and perform the feat quite easily. Always reward a well-done trick.
