MOUNT EDEN CROQUET CLUB.

The Mount Eden Croquet Club held their official opening on their lawns at Nicholson Park, East Avenue, yesterday afternoon, the president, Mrs. R. Hooton, playing the first ball. Mrs. Schnauer, the Auckland Centre president, and' Mrs. E. H. Potter, Mayoress of Mount Eden, were among the guests. The pavilion was exquisitely decorated in the club colours of pale and deep blue delphiniums, larkspur and blue sweetpeas. The following were among those present:—Mrs. Hooton, president, in a brown and fawn jumper suit; Mrs. Munro Clarke, vice-president; Mrs. C. McGill, secretary; Mrs. Cowie, treasurer; commiUee, Mesdames Burling, Salmon, Cox, McKay. Among the players were: Mrs. Tongue, Mrs. Page, Mrs. Davy, Mrs. Solomon, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Kenny, Mrs. McKay, Mrs. Burnett, Mrs. Dadley, Mrs. Rose, Mrs. Pearce, Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Robertson, Mrs. McCullagh, Mrs. Knight, Mrs. Stringer. Progressive croquet prize winners ware: A, Mrs. Maxwell, Mrs. Parton; B, Mrs. Harle, Mrs- Blakey.
