CAULFIELD TRACK WORK.

ELLERSUE TRAILING NOTES.

A QUIET MORNING.

The weather was dull for training at Ellerslie this morning. No. 2 grass track was open, and the going was good. No. 2 Grass. King Emerald was sent over a round and completed his task in 1.47 1-5. Eager Rose was allotted strong work over six furlongs, but was not after time. Sleepy Sol was in front of Kawainga and War Officer at the end of five furlongs run in 1.4 4-5. Palmares completed a six-furlong task in 1.22 3-5. Red Lion strode over a round, running the last six furlongs in 1.26 1-5. Tambourine and Neil were on terms at the end of four furlongs in 55 l-ss. Tetrachate was too good for Good Idea while running five furlongs in 1.5 2-5. Golden Wedding and Bombarder completed a six-furlong journey in 1.17. Both went well. Respirator was not doing his best to run half a mile in 50s. t Hampton Park put a lot of dash into a half-mile sprint, which took 50 2-ss. Brampton and Patutahi got to the end of live furlongs in 1.5 3-5. Corinax and Sir Archie were companions over a round, running the distance in 1.47 1-5. The last six furlongs took 1.19 4-5. Cynthia N. was given a similar task, which took 1.53 1-5. Hyde Park was not after time while traversing a round, but did his work well. Great Emblem completed a similar task in 39 4-ss. The Jumpers. Automne (H. Jones) and Mountain Guide (K. Robinson) were sent over four schooling hurdles. They jumped the first two obstacles safely, but Mountain Guide fell at the next. Automne completed his task alone. Adjuster (McGregor) gave an improved display over a round of the schooling hurdles, which he cleared in good style. ENGLISH RACING. THE CAMBRIDGESHIRE STAKES. WON BY DOUBLE LIFE. (Received 2 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The weather was fine and calm for the gallops at Caulfield. Lady Kentrel beat Demost over ten furlongs on the course proper in 2.15. Initial covered a mile in 1.47 i, while Mollison —not extended—did the same distance in 1.53. Balmerino and Donace went six furlongs in 1.17 A. Black Duchess did five furlongs in 1.3 J. On the grass Glenanton went over five furlongs, taking 1.4*. Taisho, going easily alongside, of Plunderer, went ten furlongs in 2.21. Pamphleteer covered nine furlongs in 2.0. Third King took 1.3 to do five furlongs. David Garrick —with assistance— covered six furlongs in 1.16. Crowdel went four furlongs in 50s, while Quick Reward covered a mile in 1.48.
