MR. F. A. MOORE.

The death occurred at Onehunga yesterday of Mr. Frederick Alexander Moore, at the age of SI years. Mr. Moore was born at Onehunga on November 12, 1848, and was the soil of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moore, who came to New Zealand in the ship Ramilles, which arrived in Auckland in August, 1847. Mr. F. A, Moore was in partnership for many years at Onehunga with the late Mr. R. Webb as market gardeners, having the contract for supplying the Union and Northern Companies' ships at Auckland, and Onehunga for a lengthy period. When the partnership was dissolved, Mr. Moore went farming at Hikutaia, in Thames Valley, where he acted as chairman of the school committee for a term. When he left Hikutaia, he had intended to retire into private life, and bought a farm at Papakura for his sons. Then the war broke out and four of the boys went to the front, where one was killed. Air. Moore was compelled to go on to the farm in their stead. After peace was declared he retired, and for the last few years had resided at Onehunga. Mr. Moore was one of the first members of the Mamikau Lodge of Freemasons, No. 24, and one of the first to join the Salvation Army when a corps was started at Onehunga. He was a life member of the Independent Order of Good Templars. Mr. Moore was married to Miss' Margaret McKcndrick in September, 1877, and they celebrated their golden wedding two years ago last month. He is survived by his wife and ten children, five sons and five daughters.
