M.C.C. TEAM.

Arrival Of Players At Western Australia. KEEN ON NEW ZEALAND. PERTH, October 29. The English cricket team has arrived. The members are all well. The captain, A. H. Gilligan, said they were all looking forward eagerly to their visit to New Zealand, the fame of which had been constantly preached by E. H. Bowley, as a result of his previous visits. The team was a well-balanced one, and included four men who were chosen to represent England in • the Test matches against South Africa, K. S. Duleepsinliji, Woolley, Bowley and Barratt.

With one or two exceptions it was a young side, and although it included the smallest English county cricketer, the average height of the players was sft llin. The bowlers were principally fast medium to fast. It would be interesting to see how they would fare on Australian and New Zealand wickets. The visitors had an enthusiastic reception. They practised this afternoon for the opening match against Western Australia to-morrow. Mr. Gilligan says he is specially proud of the Colombo match against All Ceylon, where they li&d a lecord attcndancc for anv English game. Woolley is the only player who has been previously in Australia.
