COUNSEL REBUKED.
A sharp rebuke was administered by Sir Alexander Ilerdman at the Supreme Court to-day to Mr. R. A. Singer, the Auckland barrister, who was late in appearing in a case in which he had been briefed for the defence. "'T have been waiting for ten minutes, and the jurymen have been waiting, too, said his Honor. "If this sort happens again the case will have to go on. notwithstanding the convenience of counsel. The Court must not lie kept waiting. Counsel must be ready to go on immediately a case is called." Mr. Singer apologised, and the case was allowed to proceed.
