FAREWELL TO OFFICERS.
LIEUTENANT R. S. JUDSON, V.C.
Officers of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, farewelled Lieutenant K. S. Judson, V.C., N.Z.S.C., at a dinner at the Officers' Club last evening. Lieutenant Judson is taking up new duties in tlie Taranaki district.
Lieutenant-Colonel ,T. H. Dawson, who presided, said that he wished Lieutenant Judson every success in his new position.
Lieutenant Judson spoke briefly of the pleasant memories he had of his association with the battalion during the past ten years, during which he had been area officer in Auckland.
Captain B. W. Croker, who is being transferred to Dannevirke, was also bidden farewell.
Major E. Puttick made a brief reply to the welcome extended to him by Lieutenant-Colonel Dawson, 011 behalf of the battalion.
