JEWISH BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
The sewing guild of the Jewish Women's Benevolent Society were entertained to an afternoon tea yesterday at their club rooms, Wyndham Street, on the occasion of the final meeting of the year. Over 2000 parcels of clothing have been made and supplied to families under the advice of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. Mr. W. W. Wallace, accompanied by Mr. H. A. Somerville and Mr. W. 1 K. Howitt, were present and thanked the ladies for their work in getting such a good result. Mrs. A. Kidd, who was among those present, also extended thanks for assistance given to the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. David Nathan, the president, was in a beige crepe de chine, trimmed with Oriental silk, black hat; Miss Ziman (secretary), wore mauve and white georgette; Mrs. G. Pezaro (the convener), navy blue flowered crepe de chine; Mrs. Lichenstein (treasurer), shaded blue figured silk. The members present were: Mrs. M. Lewis, Mrs. V. Abel, Mrs. Kohn, Mrs. H. Myers, Mrs. R. Ross, Mrs. C. Goldstein, Mrs. L. Marks, Mrs. M. Baume, Mrs. A. Follick, Mrs. Zimmer, Mrs. S. Reynolds, Mrs. C. Smith, Mrs. Issrael, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Goodman, Mrs. Collinson, Mrs. Cohen, Mrs. Copeland, Mrs. Lichenstein, Mrs. Esterman, Mrs. Glance, Mrs. F. Pope, Mrs. Shrimski, Mrs. Max Friedlander, Mrs. Kay, Mrs. Shenkin, Misses V. Moses, K. Keeeing, E. Keesing, Ballin, Mendelsohn.
