TRAFFIC PROSECUTIONS.

LENGTHY COURT LIST. The number of people charged with breaches of traffic regulations at the Magistrate's Court to-day included no less than eleven for dangerous driving. Fines ranging from 10/ to 20/ were imposed with costs. For a number of minor breaches of the regulations some offenders were ordered to pay costs and others were fined 10/ and costs. A fine of £2 and costs was imposed for passing a stationary tramcar. Mr. G. R. Hogan, chief traffic inspector, stated that a child was nearly run over. A man who ran out of petrol and left his car without lights for three days at Mount Eden was fined 20/ and costs. Inspector Bransgrove prosecuted. A charge was brought by Inspector Murray against W. Petford for using a truck with too heavy a load on two occasions. It was stated that the truck was used on a fifth-class road, on which the weight allowed was 2J tons. Defendant's weight of load and vehicle totalled 11 tons. Counsel for defendant said the road was some 50 years old and had not been damaged by the load. Defendant was ordered to pay costs totalling £2 10/.
