GISBORNE, this day,

An examination of the steamer Kahika's hull disclosed that she is sound and seaworthy, but owing to the loss of two blades of the propeller she will not bo able to make the trip to Wellington unassisted. She will be taken in tow by the tug Tcrn.whit-i. It is understood that a, difficulty has arisen with the Kahika's crew in connection with the rates of pay to be paid them on the vovagc to Wellington.
