A lorry driver, Frederick Carbutt, who travelled sit a speed of about 50 miles un hour"on the Great South Road on October VI, was fined .£<> and costs £1, by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M.
Highway Traffic Inspector E. H. Barrett followed the lorry and noticed that its speed reached 50 miles an hour on the Takanini straight.
