NEW POST OFFICE.
MOUNT ALBERT'S NEED.
VOTE OF £2500 PLACED ON
ESTIMATES
Mr. G. C. Munns, M.P. for Roskill, to - day informed Mr. Glover Clark, organiser of the United party in Auckland, that a vote of £2500 has been placed on the Estimates of the Public Works Department for the erection of a new post office at Mount Albert. Premises in a block of shops on the New North Road have been used as the post office for Mount Albert for many years, and it has long been recognised that they are inadequate for the needs of a populous and growing district. Mount Albert is the largest of the suburban boroughs of Auckland.
"The question of providing a new post office is one that has occupied the attention of the Borough Council on many occasions," said Mr. Utting, town clerk of Mount Albert, to-day, "and there has been much correspondence on the subject. It is good news that something is to be done."
