STATE MINE IDLE.
MINERS WITH A THIRST. WANT NEAR WATER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, this day. No. 2 mine at the State Liverpool colliery was idle to-day. The men returned home because there was insufficient water in the creek near the mine entrance for some of the men to fill their drinking bottles. About. 300 yards from the mine entrance there is abundance of water, but the men refused the manager's request to have their bottles filled there.
