BUS COMPANY'S COMPLAINT.
NUMEROUS INSPECTORS
Multiplicity oi control is complained of by the Passenger Transport Co., Ltd., which has written to the Auckland Transport Board stating that at the present time the company is subject to the inspection of six local bodies, and that each one of these bodies has its inspector or inspectors "armed apparently with the necessary authority to compel them to carry out their interpretation of the particular act or by-law in question." The company further complained that at the present time it did not know where it stood, and it asked the board to state the actual position. The board decided, on the secretary's advice, to inform the company that it would be necessary for it to ascertain its own position, but that the board would facilitate, as far as it could, harmonious co-operation between itself and other local governing authorities, with a view to the elimination of overlapping.
