FOUND IN HOUSE.
OLD OFFENDER'S ARREST
GAOL FOR THREE MONTHS.
Arrested by the police early yesterday morning in an unoccupied house in Grey's Avenue, John Denehy (43) appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court this morning, when he admitted being found there without lawful excuse. "Denehy is continually coming before the Court," said Sub-Inspector McCarthy. "He has over 80 previous convictions for offences arising out of drunkenness. There is not so much harm in the man, only that there is always a danger of fire when he goes into an empty house to sleep. I have made innumerable efforts to get him to help himself, hut he will not respond." After perusing Denehy's list of convictions, Mr. Hunt sent him to gaol for three months.
