LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
SOUTH SYDNEY TEAM,
PLEASED WITH N.Z. TRIP,
SYDNEY, October 28
Mr. A. Blair, the captain of the South Sydney Rugby League team which turned from New Zealand to-day, describes the hospitality received in the Dominion as overwhelming. He says the standard of play was good, and while the New Zealanders, individually, compared favourably; with the Australians, they lacked finish.
The game had a good hold in Auckland where they found the sporting instinct most pronounced. Under Mr. George Gardiner's tuition the team had learned a Maori war cry, which was a memorable souvenir of a most enjoyable visit to the Dominion.
