GOLD JACKET FOR WELLINGTON.
The New Zealand Cup candidate, Gold Jacket, left for the South to-day- in charge of L. McMahon. The black gelding has done a good preparation and at his last fast work-out went a. mile and a half in 3.21. He is to take his place in the field in the New Zealand Cup Trial at Wellington on Saturday, after which he will go on to Addington for the Cup. The race at Wellington will sharpen him up and he should be a very fit horse when he steps out in the Cup.
