DANCE CARNIVAL.
( I Under the auspices of the Trades Hall trustees a dance carnival took place at the Trades Hall last evening, and was a fitting finish to the Labour Day celebrations. The hall was arranged with gay streamers, "bells and balloons, and the Snappy Six supplied excellent dance music. The following ladies' committee assisted to make the evening a social success: —Mrs. Davies, wearing black ring velvet and silk net; Mrs. Prince, navy-blue ninon; Miss Gilford, white crepe fleuri; Mrs. Hoole, flame georgette, deep lace* hem, shoulder spray; Mrs. Henderson, geranium red chiffon and lace. Among the guests were: Mrs. N. Dreaver, Oriental gold and pink lame, rose shawl; Mrs. F. Bar-tram, black net worked in beaten silver, black and silver shoulder wrap; Mrs. Dawson, navy blue crepe fleuri, relieved with red; Mrs Smith, black georgette; Mrs. D. Taylor, powder blue georgette, uneven hem, gold girdle; Mrs. Morrison, 'black georgette, trimmed with gold and pink; Miss Bonnie Hawthorne, ivory souple satin, and pearls; Mrs. Thomas Beach, flowered georgette; Mrs. M. Croul, lemon georgette and pale blue satin; Miss R. Steen, caineo pink, uneven hem, georgette; Mrs. H. Rowland, mauve georgette and silver lace; Mrs. F. Strong, geranium georgette, and gold lace hem; Miss Z. Brewer, sapphire blue velvet and lace hem; Mrs. Aldridge, biscuit silk, uneven •hem; Miss N. Steen, praline pink and gold lace; Miss Brewer, black silk, silver lace hem; Mrs. Tavener, floral georgette; Ali-s. Franklin, pink and black ninfcin overdress, gold lace hem; Miss M. Lorigan, saxe blue georgette, embroidered in crystal; Mrs. E. Latham, deep rose souple satin, and gold lace; Mrs. I. Pearce, shrimp pink georgette, uneven hem; Mrs. Anderton, turquoise georgette, embroidered in crystal; Miss K. Ryan, pale green, with lace overdress; Miss' Mavis Dreaver, black silk, uneven lace hem, red roses; Miss Vera Dreaver, cameo velvet, and crepe fleuri.
