The stranded steamer Kaliika was refloated at 2.30 this morning, when she was towed to her anchorage by the tug

Terawhiti,

The Kahika's Gisborne cargo is being discharged to-day, and when that task is completed she will be towed to Wellington for repairs. Two blades of her propeller were lost when she grounded.

The salvage operations were carried out under the direction of Captain P. J. Foster, marine superintendent of the Union Company.
