AMUSEMENTS.

ROXY THEATRE. "Submarine," a picture passed by the New Zealand censor for adult audiences only, will be screened at the Roxy Theatre to-morrow. In this big feature film, which the management of the State Theatre, Sydney, selected for the opening attraction, Jack Holt and -Dorothy Revier head a distinguished cast. It is a mighty drama of the sea, and thrilling adventures are thrown on the screen which should keep the audience in a state of tension throughout. There is much under-water action, the "shots" being taken by special apparatus. One of the big thrills is the sinking of a submarine, and the attempts of divers to go to the rescue. Jack Holt not only succeeds in reaching the depths, but is seen attaching oxygen lines to the disabled vessel. "He also places bombs and buoys to the hull of a sunken craft in a tropical port. Much perilous work was undertaken in making this picture, and the public should welcome the opportunity of witnessing some of the hazards our own seamen have to take. There will be a full programme of alltalking featurettes.
