LABOUR DAY TURF.
DOMINION-WIDE PROGRAMME. TEN MEETINGS IN PROGRESS. Auckland Trots and Waikato Hunt the Local Attractions. — Second Day of Wellington Races.—-Trotting at Oamaru and Greymoutfi.
Local
Followers of racing and trotting throughout the Dominion are well catered for to-day, the meetings staged comprising seven galloping and three trotting fixtures. Of greatest interest to Aucklanders will be the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting (second day), and the Waikato Hunt Club's annual gathering at Cambridge. An important card is the concluding day of the Wellington Racing Club's spring meeting, and particular notice will be taken of the form, in view of the New Zealand Cup carnival, as many of the horses racing at Wellington (where the Harcourt Cup is the star attraction) will go to Christchurch. Other galloping fixtures down for decision are those of the Waverley, Waipawa, Gore, and North Canterbury Clubs, and the second day of Poverty Bay, while trotting meetings will be held at Oamaru and Greymouth.
