» ■ AUSTRALIANS FOR CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Cabled 'advice was received in Christchurch to-day, that Lynch Cooper, of Victoria, professional sprint champion of the world, and J. D. Fitt, professional middle-distance champion of Australia, will race in New Zealand early in the New Year, under contract to Mr. W. G. Walden, sports promoter, of "Christchurch. These men are regarded as two of the greatest runners over their distances that Australia has produced for many years. The greatest feature of their tour will be the meetings of Cooper with D. McLennan, New Zealand's champion sprinter.
