BOWLING TOURNEYS.
LABOUR DAY COMPETITIONS
RALN" DECAYS START. As the result of heavy rain this morning bowlers were doubtful whether they would get a game to-day, but as the showers eased off it became possible to make a start on some of the greens. Not only club games had been planned by all the city and suburban clubs, but also a number of tournaments in which local players have their first competition games of the new season. Chief among these is Carlton, which holds annually a full-rink competition that attracts very large entries, including practically all the leading exponents of the game. Other tourneys proceeded with to-day were at Epsom, Mount Albert and Onehunga.
