Gradually Turning Away From Alcohol. MELBOURNE MAN'S VIEWS. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 9.30 a.m.) HARTFORD (Conn.), October 16. Mr. Gifford Gordon, of Melbourne, addressing the State Baptist Convention, expressed the opinion that American youth was turning away from alcohol. He said: "In spite of hip flask users, the social bug and the night owl, America has never produced a higher grade of boy or girl than it is producing now." Mr. Gordon attacked the opponents of prohibition, the "wet" Press and the so-called tobacco trusts.
