LOSS TO JOURNALISM.

LATE SIH GEORGE FENWICK. FORMER COLLEAGUES' REGRET. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The following resolution was- passed by the directors of the Press Association to-day:— "The directors of the United Press Association of New Zealand, Limited, desire to express their profound sorrow at the death of their colleague and chairman, Sir George Fenwick, one of the founders of the association and a director continuously since 1879. "Through the death of Sir George Fenwick New Zealand journalism loses its premier representative. He took a leading part in the establishment of this association, was largely responsible for its development in its early days, guided it wisely and with unfailing courage, and assisted actively in the direction of its affairs until his death. His colleagues ever regarded him with admiration and affection, and they feel that in his death they lose both a leader and a friend. "They desire to record their appreciation of his distinguished services, not only to the association, but to journalism in general. They beg to tender to Lady Fenwick and her family the deepest sympathy of all the members of the association."
