INDOOR BOWLING.
EXECUTIVE VISITS MANTJREWA.
Some three months ago at the Invitation of Mr. E. S. Pegler, a team from the Auckland executive journeyed to Manurewa with two sets of bowls and carpets to introduce tne game there. So great was the enthusiasm raised that an association was formed there, and their president, Mr. E. Forbes, a very keen player outdoors, one of the hard driving variety, was naturally anxious to show how much progress had been made, and a return visit by the Auckland centre was suggested. This time three rinks were invited, and on arrival they were welcomed by President Forbes, and a most enjoyable time was spent. After supper, on behalf of the Auckland members, President Bro. F. A. Harris thanked their Manurewa friends for their hospitality, and congratulated th>em on their rapid progress, both in membership and in their standard of play. Mr. E. S. Pegler, in reply, thanked the Ancklnnrl executive for their kindness in introducing this very fine sport to Manurewa. It had taken such a hold of them that he hoped next year Manurewa would send teams to compete in the Auckland open tournaments.
