SHAG POINT COAL MINE.
RESTORATION NEARLY FINISHED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUXEDEs', this day. Most of the restoration work in the Shag Point coal mi#e is now done, and 53 men-are employed, and putting out from 90 to 100 tons a day. In the 12 months before the mine closed down 90 men were on the pay-roll, and their earnings for the year totalled £21,500. It was a big thing for Palmerston, and is shaping to be a big thing again, since everything is going on satisfactorily.
