WORK FOR FIFTY MEN.
IN DARGAVILLE DISTRICT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, this day. The Public Works Department has notified the Hobson County Council that employment for 50 men can be found in this district immediately. The council recommended for attention under the employment relief scheme the Tokatoka-Mangapai and TangaihiPouto roads, giving access through Crown lands to Tβ Kuri block, of 18,000 acres, on the opposite side of the river from Ruawai, also the Maropiu-Kai Iwi road giving "access to a Crown block, adjoining which Dominion Forests, an Australian company, have acquired 15,000 acres of gum country for tree planting.
