COMPLAINT IN CANTERBURY,
RELIEF WORK AT WRONG TIME. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. There are said to be vacancies in the Christchurch district for 40 or 50 farm workers, and complaint is made that some men in the country have left their jobs in order to take unemployment relief work. Labour agents express the opinion that the Government's offer of employment should have been made in the autumn or winter.
