CHESTER—VENABLES,
The wedding was solemnised at St. John's Anglican Church, Royal Oak, on Tuesday afternoon, when Mabel, fourth daughter of Mr. and tho late Mrs. J. Venables, of' Mexboro', England, was married to Allen, second eon of Mr. and Mrs. H. Chester, of Royal Oak, Auckland. The Rev. C. R. Harrison officiated. The bride, who entered the church on tho arm of her cousin, Mr. G. Foulds, looked charming in a gown of ivory crepe de chine with skirt of old English lace. The veil was held by a coronet of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of white azaleae, sweet peas and carnations. Tho bridesmaids were Miss Edith Venables, wearing a frock of delphinium blue crepe de chine and hat of beige trimmed to tone, and Miss Elsie Blackwell in a dress of praline pink crepe fleuri and crinoline hat to tone. They carried bouquets of pink sweet peas and roses, and mauve wistaria and sweet peas respectively. The reception was held in the Royal Oak Hall, where Mrs. Chester received the guests in a frock of beige georgette chenille and hat to tone. Mrs. Foulds wore sage green crepe de chine and copper coloured hat. Mr. F. Chester was best man, while the duties of groomeman were carried out by Mr. T. Griffiths.
