MRS. ELIZABETH KISSLING.
Another of the fast-diminishing band J of Auckland's pioneers, in the person of Mrs. Elizabeth Kissling, passed awaj at her residence, 15, Burleigh Street, yesterday, in her 85th year. Mrs. Kissling was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Connell, and came to New Zealand with her parents in the ship John McVicar in the year 1857. Their first home was in Nelson, but the family later removed to Auckland. Coming oi a musical family, and the possessor ol a fine soprano voice, she was frequently heard in the early days in the Nelson Philharmonic and the Auckland Choral Society. In 1868 she married Mr. C. F. E. Kissling, fourth son of the late Archdeacon Kissling first incumbent of St. Mary's parish. Parnell. She has resided continuously in Auckland, and was well known as a loyal and energetic worker in the parish of Holy Sepulchre. Her children surviving are: Mr. Charles Kissling, Mrs. Thomas Charter. Mrs. F. C. S. Lawson, and Mrs. C. Hav.
