CHARGES OF THEFT. TWO MEN SENT FOR TRIAL. D'OUBLE FINANCING ALLEGED. ; (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI, this day. . The nature of the alleged offence committed by John Martin Bishara ana Geoffrey Alva Trayhurn, proprietor and general manager of Bishara Bros.' motor garage, was described in the Magistrate's Court, when evidence was heard against them on fourteen charges of theft of motor cars.

George Burgoyiie Owen, of the Traders' Finance Co., said Bishara J3ros. on March 15 sold a car to Trayhurn, who was described as an accountant, and the finance company advanced £120 11/0 to Bishara Bros./ Trayhurn having paid down £00 out of the purchase price ot £180. The ear, witness declared, was then the property of the Traders' Finance Co., but subsequently it Wets ascertained that a week later the car had been resold to a Mr. Morton .Meredith. Harold Charles Kent, manager of General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Wellington, said his firm advanced £8b to Bishara Bros, on account of a car sold to Meredith. Meredith signed the agreement, which was prepared by Bishara Bros. Unaware of Previous Deal. , Witness said that had his firm known that the car belonged to the Traders' Finance Corporation it. would not have made the deal. The. firm stood to lose. £57 13/8 over the transaction. The car was undoubtedly the property of the Traders' Finance Corporation. Detective Walsh their read a statement made by Bishara and Trayhurn, to the efl'ect that they both knew the car belonged! to the' Traders' Finance Corporation. On this charge both accused pleaded not guilty, and were committed, to the Supreme 'Court for trial.
