BAPTIST ASSEMBLY.
VISIT TO COLLEGE.
NEW MINISTERS RECEIVED.
A large number of delegates to the I Baptist Union Assembly attended a reception at the New Zealand Baptist College for the training of ministers and missionaries in Remuera on Monday afternoon. The . guests, who were welcomed by the principal, Dr. J. J. North, and the secretary, Mr, F. N. Andrews, ■were afforded an opportunity of inspecting the college. A "college night" was held m the Tabernacle in the evening. The Rev. J. W. Kemp presided. Prayers were offered by the Rev. S. Jenkin, and the scripture lesson was read by the Rev. J. Laird. "The Ideal of the College" was the subject of a short address by Dr. North. Students who were entering thenprobationary pastorates, Messrs; J. Crozier, B. M. Wilson, and L. A. North, •were presented by Dr. North. Tributes to the work of the principal were paid by the students. 'Three members of the church who had passed their probationary pastorates, and Who had served as home missionaries, were also presented, and received ministerial recognition. An impressive charge to the new ministers, the Rev. J. Ewen Simpson, R. L. Fursdon, E. W. Batts, A. Fear, and S. J. ( Gilbert, was delivered by the Rev. Knowles Kempton. The dedicatory prayer wa,s read by the Rev. A. Grigg.
