NOW STABLE.
IRELAND SITUATION. Lord Craigavon Asks For Trade With Dominions. VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 10 a.m.) FEEIIAXTLE, this day. Lord Craigavon, Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, is a passenger by the Otranto. In an interview he declared that the situation in Northern Ireland was now stable with the best of feeling between the parties there and between the North and South. Beyond that he would not discuss politics. He and his wife are visiting Australia and New Zealand purely on a holiday.
He added that commercially Ulster is progressing, especially in shipbuilding, which is one of the main industries. The linen industry is not so prosperous. Lord Craigavon is extremely keen on trade within the Empire. He said that Northern Ireland purchased largely Australian and New Zealand goods and would like these Dominions to reciprocate in the same measure. It is understood that Lord Craigavon leaves New Zealand for home in February.
