Dec. 29.—Gore T.C. Dec. 27, 28, 31.—Auckland T.C. Dec. 2S.—Winton T.C. Dec. 30.—Inangahua T.C. Jan. 1, 2. —Canterbury Park T.C. Jan. 8. —Westland T.C. Jan. 4, 6.—Greymouth T.C. Jan. 11. —Timaru T.C. Jan 18. —Wellington T.C. Feb. 8. —N.Z. Metropolitan T.C. Feb. 22.—Kaikoura T.C. A four-year-old by Peter Moko —Hina is being educated by T. Paton. He is also pottering about with the trotter Eleago. After Paradigm's ridiculously easy win among the rough trotters on Saturday he is bound to see a short price at the Northland meeting. Ivcwpie's Guy was pacing along nicely for a time in the Frankton Handicap, but when the pace was clapped on the chestnut faded out. The four-year-old Bloss Audubon, whose only start was in the Derby "last year, and who has been spelling ever since, has been taken in hand again and was pottering about at Epsom yesterday. Nel- do Beau should be improved by her two runs at Hamilton and next timo out she should get tlio money. She has a good turn of speed and later on will stay.

Benefice, who is now in A. Dyer's stable, has not raced for some time. Last season this mare, when trained by J. Shaw, won a race, but her subsequent form was not too good. She has plenty of pace.

C'onder Bell went two fair races on Saturday without ever looking like a winner. The son of Golconda—Bell Gray may scoro in a weak field at one of the country meetings.

Gold Seam, tho novice in L. McMahon's stable, was a starter in the Frankton Handicap, but he was never dangerous. He is a good cut of a horse and when experienced may be a useful sort.

R. A. McMillan -went close to being rewarded for the time he hae spent 011 Brutus when the gelding beat all but Pearl Logan in the Stewards' Handicap. Brutus goes well for a mile and is very well at present. In the middle stages of the Mark Memorial, Rockburn put in a very fast spurt which took him up to Mountain Dell in the lead, but he did not remain? there long and was soon in the pack again. Linnett the Great looked a class above the others in the Introductory Trot, but it is pace, not looks, that wins races, and the imported mare was always last. She is not nearly ready 'yet to display her best. When J. J. Kennerley starts to win races it may be well to be with all his Nothing is known about hie team, but ho is not the sort to bother with bad horses.

The "hard luck" story is not much good to those who have lost their money, but there is no question that Etta Cole, in several of the races in which slio lias been beaten, should have won by a "week."

W. Cockbill, who has been very successful with All Bell, again has the veteran in work at Epsom. All Bell is carrying a well-bandaged foreleg, but he walks soundly enough, and went away all right when worked 011 the sand track yesterday.

Without ever looking to have a winning chance, Kewpie's Guy shaped promisingly in the Frankton Handicap on Saturday. She has not done nearly the amount of work some other three-year-olds have, and later in the season may be found very little below the standard of the best we have locally of her age.

Pavlova, .who is entered for races at the Auckland meeting, ia in W. Nightji)' gale's team. The black mare has not been noticed doing any fast sprinting, and she may need a race or two before being seen at her best. She was at one time owned by the local sportsman, Mr, E- Cuqksey, and was in J. Bryce's stable.

Master Huia, who won the ujihopplcd race on Saturday, did not begin very well, but once lie settled down to pace he went very solid. Peterson breaking in the straight made things a bit easy perhaps for Master Huia, but it was a close thing between victory and defeat, as the Huia Dillon gelding only beat Floraline a long neck, with Etta Cole half a head away.
