MOUNTAIN DELL'S DEFEAT.
Because Mountain Dell was beaten in the Mark Memorial on Saturday there are many who are disposed to look upon her as being far from a good one. These same people seem to forget that there is not a horse in Auckland who could allow Lindbergh to be handicapped six seconds slower than ho has gone and then beat him. It will be interesting to see how tho others get on when they meet her in the 4.39 class at the Auckland meeting. Nearly all those in the race who have two miles records are, with the exception of Mountain Dell, let up a second or so, while Mountain Dell has not yet gone her handicap of 3,37. Even so, they have the hardest part to beat her.
