ANNUAX MEETING HELD
.MEDALS' PRESENTED.
Successful candidates in vhe French examination held by-the Trench CHub on "behalf of the French Ministry for. Foreign" Affairs, were .presented with medals'.on Monday at the annual meeting of:the French Club, by'the French Consul, M. Paul Serre. The competition tv as restricted to secondary f?hools Complimenting the successful candidates, M. aerre remarked -op - the. high standard of progenerally maintained. .•. A .satisfactory financial 'position , was revealed in.: a report of the activities oi the club for the year, read by M. Serre. The balance-sheet and annual report were adopted. Almost .enjoyable programme was arranged by ■ Mile. Jeanne Chauvel, and included pianoforte and vocal items. Officers were elected as follow: Honorary president, M. Paul Serre; president, Sir. P. S. Ardern; vice-presidents, Mrs. F. Foley and Mr. H. A. Francis; secretary, Mr. Ct. H. Bassant; treasurer, Miss E Jennings; librarians. Mile. G. van Osselar and Mile. Le Houx; committee, Mesdames Marechal de Widts, L. Clews, In. Calderwood, F. G. Bilton, A. Palazzi-Harte and J. J. Sullivan, Miles. E HalL J- Chauvel and L. Shenkm, Messrs. G. S. Coldham, D. W. Faigan, and Tj. Lucena; honorary auditor, Mr. E. Clark.
