SCHOOLS AND SWIMMING.
THE ART SHOULD BE TAUGHT,
' II: will be remembered that the Auckland School Committees' Association recently asked the Board of Education to arrange for swimming instruction to be given in all primary schools. This mornfnrr the board adopted a report from the senior inspector, stating that swimming was part of the physical instruction in schools, tliat "land drill" was taken as part of the training; and further that he was of opinion that swimming should be taught in all schools where facilities existed.
